Wednesday/Thursday- 6/17-18 - Helsinki

Bill & Judy Schramm arrived in Helsinki on Wednesday aboard a commercial type airline.  They will now fly in style.  We spent Wednesday at the airport getting fuel and stuff, and went to a Russian restaurant for dinner.  (Good Vodka!)

Thursday we went on, what I thought was, an overly long and boring 1 1/2 hour bus tour.  This will be our last bus tour for this trip (and for my life).  We stopped for lunch.  Our waitress had an interesting hair color (right).

We wandered around a bit.  Sharon & Judy bought cherries (right).  I bought a hot dog (great roll, lousy dog).

The weather is clearing and tomorrow, if everything works out, we will fly to Tallinn, Estonia.  There are a lot of ads for boat trips (90 miles - 90 minutes {hydrofoil}) to Tallinn for the day.  We should get there a little quicker (about 40 minutes).  While at the Helsinki airport we will make sure we can get fuel tomorrow when we get back, and get out on Saturday morning for Bornholm, Denmark and then Berlin.  Complicating matters here is the big holiday.  It is on Saturday, but everything is grinding to a halt this afternoon (Thursday).  This is "The Day of the Midnight Sun."  Friday night is party time with bonfires and wild stuff.  We will attempt to attend, but only to watch -- of course.
