Wednesday 7/8 Pisa to Granada, Spain

This was a very long day of flying.  We left the hotel in Pisa early, went through the myriad of paperwork at the Pisa airport and took off for Perpignan, France to refuel.  The trip took about 2 hours 45 minutes and we flew over Nice (top pix) and Antibes (2nd pix) prior to landing at Perpignan (3rd Pix).  The trip took about 2 hours 45 minutes.  Our stop in Perpignan was just to refuel, but we had time for a butter sandwich.(strictly French).

Our landing at Perpignan (3rd pix) was uneventful, as was the lunch.  We left Perpignan and flew through most of Spain to Granada.  The first half of the trip was filled with large cities such as Barcelona.  The second half looked desolate.  We landed at Granada and had excellent ground handling service.  It was hot as hell.

We had just enough time to shower and then go to dinner.   We ate very early, as far as Spain is concerned, at about 9:00 PM.  The view from the Carmen de San Miguel Restaurante was spectacular (bottom pix).  The food and wine were excellent.  This town (Granada) is in the middle of nowhere.  It seems to be a destination, rather than a "just stopping by".  We'll learn more tomorrow.  For tonight, it's been a long day.
